Working at camp will be one of the best jobs you’ll ever have. We’re not just saying that; we really mean it. Every summer, thousands of children from all over the country go to camp for a summer of fun, growth, and friendship. But we’re not just invested in our campers; we’re also invested in our staff. We know that our overall success is a combined effort, and we therefore strive to provide opportunities for our staff members to learn, grow and thrive too. As the weeks pass by, you and your campers will come out of your shells, take on challenges, and make new friends. There’s nothing more rewarding than that!
A coaching job at camp looks different than a traditional coaching job. First and foremost, you are a counselor and will be living in a bunk supervising, guiding, and encouraging your campers. Where your day changes from that of a general counselor comes once activities begin for the day.
In addition to helping with cabin responsibilities, you will also spend part of your day coaching campers. As a coach, you should be knowledgeable and experienced in your sport having played at a competitive level. Coaching experience is preferred, but not required. Your camp will provide training during orientation. Over the course of the summer you will work as part of a team of coaches and leadership staff to lead and design sports instructional lessons and tournaments, mentor and coach campers on improving skill, and foster teamwork and sportsmanship at your sport.
Talk to the specific camps you are interested in to ensure they have the sport you want to coach.
Our camps are located in Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New York, & Vermont, and we need someone just like you! Check out these summer camp jobs for college students.
